PDFLane – PDF Editor & Scanner

Terms of Use

Effective and last updated: October 5, 2026

These Terms govern your use of PDFLane, provided by Kai Li. By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms and Apple’s applicable App Store terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. License and acceptable use

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, subject to Apple’s rules. You must not reverse engineer the App except where law permits, disrupt its operation, evade security or advertising controls, use it unlawfully, or infringe another person’s rights.

2. Your files and responsibilities

You retain rights in files and content you process. You confirm you have the necessary rights and permissions to scan, edit, convert, sign, share or otherwise use them. Keep independent backups of important documents. You are responsible for reviewing output before relying on or sharing it, and for protecting passwords and device access.

3. Features and limitations

PDF, OCR, compression and file-conversion results may vary with file structure, image quality, fonts, encryption and system resources. Output may lose formatting or be incomplete. The App is a productivity tool, not legal, financial, medical or professional advice, and an electronic signature added with the App may not satisfy every jurisdiction or transaction.

4. Local processing and third-party services

Core document processing is designed to occur on your device. Apple services, destinations selected from the share sheet, analytics, crash diagnostics, advertising and legal-page hosting are provided by third parties under their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services or content.

5. Advertising and optional permissions

Some versions may display advertising, including contextual, interstitial, native or rewarded formats. Advertising availability, rewards and frequency can change. Refusing optional tracking permission will not remove your access to core document features. Any rewarded benefit is granted only after the applicable completion signal and has no cash value.

6. Availability and changes

We may update, add, suspend or discontinue features, providers or support for technical, legal or business reasons. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. Some capabilities require a compatible device, current iOS version or network connection.

7. Disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without express or implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement or preservation of data. Consumer rights that cannot legally be waived remain unaffected.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, loss of files, profits, business or data, or reliance on conversion/OCR output. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the App during the preceding twelve months or the minimum amount required by law.

9. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the App at any time. Your license ends if you materially breach these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers and liability limits—will survive.

10. Governing rules

These Terms are governed by applicable law without depriving you of mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence. Courts or dispute-resolution bodies with lawful jurisdiction may hear disputes.

11. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms and will post the revised date here. Continued use after an effective update constitutes acceptance where permitted by law. Questions may be sent to yihan8113@gmail.com. Please do not email confidential documents.
